چکیده
Figure 2 Glove stretched over the retractor, providing a seal Figure 3 Glove port with camera inserted removal (Fig 1). This technique can also be used at a stoma site. Once the specimen is removed, stretch a sterile size 61⁄2 glove over the retractor and re-establish pneumoperitoneum. A perfect seal will be obtained (Fig 2). If the port is still required, cut the tip off any finger of the glove and reinsert the trocar, placing a tie on the glove to maintain the seal around the trocar. The trocar can be used as normal (Fig 3).

Minimally invasive total splenectomy in dogs: A clinical report
Cases of minimally-invasive surgery are gaining acceptance among surgeons and animal owners. One type of minimally-invasive surgery is total splenectomy, which is indicated for splenic tumors, trauma, torsions, and for dogs that require blood transfusion. To assess the safety of the technique, experimental laparoscopic splenectomies were performed in dogs for the first time in Iran. Three adult...

BACKGROUND There is no adequate evidence on how the long duration of laparoscopic surgery affects splanchnic perfusion in elderly patients or the efficacy of acute hypervolemic fluid infusion (AHFI) during the induction of anesthesia. Our aim was to observe the effects of AHFI during the induction of general anesthesia on splanchnic perfusion. MATERIAL AND METHODS Seventy elderly patients recei...

INTRODUCTION Single-incision laparoscopic surgery has been reported to be a safe and feasible technique for colorectal cancer. However, the technique needs skill due to the limitations of the device. An organ retractor is a new grasp device that has the potential to overcome these limitations. PRESENTATION OF CASE A 63-year-old woman with a tumor palpated in the right lower quadrant of the ab...
